Position:
Brake Performance Certification Engineer Jr

We are currently seeking a motivated and talented Brake Performance Certification Engineer Jr to join our team. As a Brake Performance Certification Engineer Jr, you will be responsible for ensuring the compliance of braking systems with international safety standards and regulations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to conduct brake performance tests and evaluate the results. Your role will involve analyzing data, identifying any issues or non-compliance areas, and providing recommendations for improvements. Additionally, you will assist in the preparation of certification documents and collaborate with external certification authorities.

Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Support in the full functional integration of vacuum boosted and electrical boosted brake systems to meet vehicle functional objectives and performance goals
  
• Conduct DV and Certification Tests, using Link Data Acquisition Systems to gather braking performance data at Chelsea Proving Grounds (CPG)
  
• Support in the coordination and planning of testing at Chelsea Proving Grounds (CPG)/Arizona Proving Grounds (APG) to meet NA Program milestones
  
• Overview of test equipment set-up
  
• Conducting post-test data processing and consequent analysis of given data to ensure test accuracy
  
• Development of reports which recognize potential issues relative to compliance with Regulations and/or general braking performance
  
• Issuance of documents to support submission of final Compliance Reports
  
• Support the development of brake systems and coordinating vehicle ordering, builds, shipping, and testing
  
• Support the root cause quality/build issues and implement corrective actions
  

Requirements:

• 
  
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree is required
  
• 0 - 2 years of experience
  
• Knowledge/Experience of vehicle level system design and validation
  
• Knowledge of brake system performance and sizing modeling/analysis
  
• Design Failure Mode &
  Effects Analysis (DFMEA)/SFMEA and DVP-R experience such as:
  write/review/execute
  
• Proven problem-solving skillset (e.G., Shainin, DFSS, Red X) and analytical skillset
  
• Brake testing/development experience or Chassis development is a plus
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• 
  
• Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  
• Experience in vehicle testing, preferably brake testing
  
• Brake system modeling and system analysis experience
  
• Design and release experience of brake components
