The Launch Box is seeking a highly motivated and proactive Accounting Lead to join our team in Guadalajara. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accounting functions across multiple US client companies. This includes general financial accounting, overall accounts payable/receivable monitoring, compensation, revenue recognition, assist in payroll recognition, and prepare account reconciliation and financial statements. We are looking for someone who has a desire to grow into a Controller role over the next couple of years.

What You Will Do:

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including close-related activities, reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary
• Perform bank reconciliations and verify the accuracy of financial records
• Collaborate with the external audit team during the annual audit process
• Stay updated on accounting and tax regulations in Mexico and ensure compliance for Launch Box Mexico
• Oversee transfer pricing between MX and US entities
• Provide financial analysis and support to management for decision-making purposes
• Record and process financial transactions in the accounting books according to US GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) and tax regulations
• Assist with financial forecasts, client presentations, and ad-hoc reporting requests
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of balance sheet accounts by reviewing all transactions for compliance with GAAP and to reflect actual activity/purpose of account
• Process and review A/P and A/R and escalate as needed
• Support the implementation and maintenance of internal processes and systems

Your knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• Previous experience of at least 5 years in accounting, preferably in consulting or for an accounting firm
• Working knowledge of inter-entity transactions and transfer pricing
• Solid knowledge of accounting and tax regulations in Mexico
• Knowledge of or willingness to quickly learn US GAAP principles
• Advanced Excel Skills (functions, formulas, and pivot tables)
• Ability to make decisions independently and escalate as required to keep work moving.
• Strong attention to detail required
• Experience with Sage Intacct highly preferred, but other accounting software experience will be considered
• Business level written and spoken English ( Only Resumes in English will be considered )
