We are seeking an experienced and results-driven IT Manager to be part of the Baxter Global IT Manufacturing Operations – Global MES Center of Excellence. As an IT Manager for MES, you will be responsible for managing implementations, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our MES software portfolio and infrastructure, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our manufacturing processes.

What you'll be doing

• MES Implementations:
  Lead implementations of MES solutions, working closely with multi-functional teams, including manufacturing, engineering, and IT, to ensure successful integration with existing systems and processes.
• System Maintenance:
  Oversee the ongoing maintenance and updates of the MES software, ensuring it remains up-to-date, secure, and optimized for peak performance.
• Process Improvement:
  Collaborate with key stakeholders to see opportunities for process improvement within the manufacturing environment. Implement and monitor MES enhancements to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational efficiency.
• Team Leadership:
  Work with MES specialists and developers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the team’s success in meeting project deadlines and goals.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance:
  Ensure the MES systems adhere to applicable industry regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements.
• Training and User Support:
  Develop training programs for manufacturing personnel and provide ongoing support to ensure smooth adoption and effective utilization of the MES systems.
• Integration and Data Analysis:
  Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate MES data with other enterprise systems (such as ERP, PLM, LIMS) and leverage data analytics to drive informed decision-making.
• Budgeting and Cost Control:
  Manage the IT budget for MES projects and initiatives, optimize resources and expenses to achieve project objectives and deliver projects on time and on budget.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field plus 7 years of experience in software development and implementation projects. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are advantageous.
• 3+ years of hands-on design, development, and deployment of MES with an emphasis on recipe design, development and configuration using Databases (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, etc.)
• Solid skills in methods and technologies to support manufacturing data integrations (SQL, Web Services, data mapping, etc.)
• Demonstrable experience as an IT Manager or in a leadership role specifically focused on MES implementation and management within a manufacturing environment.
• Deep understanding of MES software and its integration with manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as ISA-95 and compliance requirements (e.G., FDA regulations for medical device manufacturers).
• Solid project management skills, including planning, resource allocation, and risk management. Agile and scrum experience a plus
• Superb communication skills to effectively collaborate with multi-functional teams and collaborators at all levels.
• Analytical attitude with the ability to interpret data and identify areas for improvement.
• Experience working in a regulated environment with knowledge of regulatory and industry standards, such as FDA regulations, ISO standards, and GMP
• Experience in working with manufacturing equipment and processes is a plus.
• Knowledge of MES frameworks such as POMS or POMSnet or Siemens-Opcenter Execution Medical Device (CAMSTAR) or Siemens-Opcenter Execution Pharma (XFP) is a plus.
• Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking in English and Spanish. Portuguese is a plus.
