The Marketing Analyst II role to be locatedQuerétaro, Mexicois a challenging opportunity for an individual interested in expanding their knowledge in a global operating system for pricing, market research and customer information.

About the Role

This role will be responsible for overseeing a wide variety of pricing, data governance, and market research projects as well as for developing the supporting systems, tools and processes. The ideal candidate will be able to work individually as well as in teams. Must be data mining friendly for use by global sales channel and marketing personnel.

This is an exciting opportunity to support a global pricing system that has a significant impact on the profitability of the organization, a market intelligence system that facilitates information capture used to formulate strategies and capitalize on emerging global market needs;
and finally a demand forecasting process to help ensure delivery performance and inventory levels are achieved.

You will assist with analyzing, maintaining and continuously improving the pricing system to ensure accuracy resulting in better flow of orders and higher levels of profitability. You will assist with developing demand forecasts on a monthly basis. This position will analyze market potential, competitive landscape, industry trends, and economic drivers for our target markets. This position will also oversee the data governance for pricing, customer and market data such as industry classifications, product classes, and customer segmentation levels.

You will be engaged with both internal and external customers in this position.You will also work closely with BUs, product managers and BU leaders to understand the competitive landscape develop countermeasures to competitive threats. You will follow best practices associated with market research and analysis. You will also understand and use the Watlow Way (WW) behaviors, principles, and values. This position will report directly to the Director of Product Management

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Learn, support and improve the global operating system for pricing.
  • Track industry-wide initiatives and announcements that are strategically important to Watlow.
  • Assist with maintaining market size and segmentation data for all Watlow’s primary markets.
  • Assist with maintaining customer segmentation status for all Watlow accounts.
  • Assist with providing market data in support of planning activities.
  • Recommends solutions to team leader for consideration.
  • Assist with identification and research of emerging markets and applications as growth opportunities for Watlow.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining effective business relationships with key customers, external opinion leaders, competitors, and government and industry organizations as input to understand emerging market opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with a wide variety of Watlow team members in marketing, sales, engineering, finance, customer service, Executive Team, etc.
  • Learn, support and improve global operating system for market research.

Required Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of market research methods and techniques for business-to-business environments.
  • Hands on experience with market research databases and analytical tools.
  • Basic understanding of Watlow business systems (such as Customer Relationship Management) and the ability to extract and analyze applicable data from Watlow business systems with minimal guidance.
  • Solid analysis, strategic thinking, and written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences, team members and external customers and industry experts.
